WHAT WE SAY

Founded by Terry Lonergan in the late 1970's, FASTRAX initially supplied many of the wave of new running clubs setting up at that time. From that small beginning FASTRAX has now established itself as one of the leading suppliers of club/team vests, shorts and other items of customised running clothing in the UK.

Terry is an accomplished runner, having raced in all disciplines including fell, trail, cross country, track and on the roads. He takes his running very seriously, still trains on a daily basis and regularly races competitively for his club (Sale Harriers Manchester) where he began his running career. In his 'spare time' he maintains a daily blog 'Running on Empty' where you can read and view more about his running and 'resting' activities.

He has an unrivalled knowledge of runner's requirements, especially when it comes to 'club kit'. Terry loves talking running and ensures that his extensive knowledge is available to new clubs wishing to establish their own unique identity, and also to existing clubs wanting to change direction on their club kit. Terry remains at the helm though is semi-retired but is still available to discuss your requirements (and your running). Just e.mail him your telephone number and he'll get straight back to you after his next run...

Terry is supported by a strong team of staff, themselves, all with a club running background.

Jo Fricker has been in charge of our Clubs Department for many years, enjoying a strong rapport with our customers, many of whom have been with us since 'day one'.

Jo ensures that our customers requirements are understood and met in a friendly, knowledgeable and professional manner, and together with Terry plays a key part in maintaining Fastrax's position as a front runner in this highly specialised field.

The FASTRAX brand was created to meet the demanding needs of club runners, providing them with a comprehensive range of kit which established their identity. FASTRAX policy was to be as flexible as possible, imposing minimal restrictions on ordering while maintaining continuity and a reasonable price. That philosophy remains.

In recent years there have been significant developments in the fabrics used to make running clothing. Lightweight, breathable, high wicking materials are now the norm. To ensure that the diverse needs of clubs are catered for, FASTRAX can supply the best of these in an extensive range of colours, made up in one of our stock styles or to your own design.

Durham University Athletics & Cross Country Club (Feb 2010)

Hi guys,

I wanted to say a collective thank you to all of you - not just from me but from the club. The vests looked stunning at the weekend, even drawing comments from people from other unis to say so.

I know it was quite a long process to see it through to actually getting the vests so I want to thank you for the co-operation, help and patience shown along the way. Setting up new vests was always going to be the hardest bit, not the ordering, so it was important to get it done right. And it was.

I think an important thing in all this is that we got the impression Fastrax actually wanted to make our vests and the value of that hasn't gone unnoticed! I honestly think you've got such a unique selling point now that you're able to offer sublimated vests. I don't think there was anyone else with a sublimated design at the weekend, and the freedom it offers for clubs/teams coming to you means you're able to offer designs that nobody else can.

Isle of Man Athletics Association (June 2011)

Hi Terry,

I am writing to say a big thank you for all Fastrax's efforts to produce the wonderful new Isle of Man athletics kit.

Last week, we unveiled the new kit to our athletes, and there was a real
jaw-dropping wow reaction! Everyone loved it. Everyone there said how bright and fresh the design looked, and how modern! Words like "stunning" and "brilliant" were being used to describe the vests and crop-tops. Some compared it to the design seen on our Isle of Man cyclist's kit...thinking of superstar Mark Cavendish and others!

Please pass on my congratulations and delight to Pat and to Alastair in particular for persisting with the design through all its many changes and adaptations. I know it wasn't easy, but the end result is fantastic!
